Poverty-Related Diseases

Poverty-related diseases affect over a billion people each year and remain a highly actual problem that demands an international approach.

A rapid and reliable diagnosis is critical to the timely and effective treatment of poverty-related infectious diseases. When access to a well-equipped clinical laboratory is not available, affordable rapid diagnostic tests that can be used at the point-of-care can provide a major contribution to combating poverty-related diseases, especially in rural and remote settings. Furthermore, epidemiological insights gained through the use of rapid diagnostics provide a significant contribution to improve the situation.
